13 Sep DREAMSEA CHEF PRESENTS: PINK HUMMUS
They say “The people who gives you their food, give you their heart”. If you have ever been in a Dreamsea Surf Camp, you would have noticed that the chefs are one of the most appreciated members of our family because they put blood, sweat and tears in our food (not literally, come on).
The point of every meal is to get everybody together in the same place to share impressions, jokes, wiseness and joy. We decided to show you this pink hummus recipe so you can make it for your beloved friends and family to surprise their eyes and mouth. Since the very early days, food has been closely linked to cooperation and plays an essential role in building community. There is still some ritual around preparing and sharing food with family and friends, that touches our deepest roots. This is because the emotional response we get from food, is really similar to the emotional response we get when receiving someones attention. In fact, they come from the same part of our brain: the limb.
Now, can you tell the areas that has the most shareable cuisine in the world? They are Middle East Asia and North Africa. There they have big platters ready to share the food with everyone seated around the table. From there hummus comes from!
WHAT ELSE CAN WE SAY ABOUT THIS DELICIOUS PLATE?
1. IT IS PINK
Which makes it the coolest hummus ever. Also beetroot is full of vitamins A and C, it is antioxidant and it also contains fibre and calcilum.
2. IT IS A MAIN DISH
Even if everybody thinks it is just a dip.
3. EAT IT WITH YOUR HANDS
It doesn’t mean you have to use the fingers, just grab it with a slice of Lebanese bread and accompany it with a lots of oil.
4. HUMMUS ETIQUETTE
Hold the bread with your fingers, dip it in the bowl and with a flick of the wrist, dip it in a circle movement.
Finally Dreamsea Chefs highly recommend: don’t measure to detail the ingredients, just feel them. Ask your kitchen mates and friends and let them taste it. Believe us, you want opinions are the best guide because hummus is for sharing from the kitchen to the table.
